Today,on April 14, 2018, Sahungra Welfare Society and Thana village for the first time celebrates 127th birth anniversary of the creator of the Constitution Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ramji Ambedkar ji was housed in Village Thana, Tehsil GarshShankar, District Hoshiarpur with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, by imposing four more chapters of thought on Baba Sahibs teachings on this occasion, the children receiving free education from the society for the last two months passed with good marks in the annual examinations were encouraged by the society by awarding prizes. With the Sahungra Welfare Society and village Thane team, the society announced the opening of Rise Academy at village Thana. Children will be given full academic studies in Rise Academy for this year .On this occasion, the missionary leader, Dilbagh Chand Bhatia (former MC), as the Chief Guest, lighted the life of Baba Sahib and motivated him to Educate, Agitate and Organize by following the thinking of Baba Sahib. At this ceremony, 21 students from Pre-nursery to ninth grade were honored by the society through elderly elders of the society.
According to information received from General Secretary of Sahungra Welfare Society, Kawaljit Singh, this initiative was an encouraging movement among the residents of the town. The residents of the Thana Village believed that the first attempt made by society related to Baba Sahib in the village is commendable and they hope that other such initiatives will be done by the society in the future. More than 250 municipal residents attended the ceremony. The tea langar also distributed by the Sahungra Welfare Society.
